Welcome to Our Centre

The Ottawa Shambhala Centre aims to be an open and affirming space: queer-friendly, anti-racist, recovery-supportive, accessible, and welcoming to people living in poverty.

Wheelchair Accessible: Elevator, automatic door buttons on all entrances and washrooms.

Visual and Hearing Accommodations: We are also happy to accommodate people with visual and hearing difficulties. Please email our Societal Health and Well Being committee at health@shambhalaottawa.ca to make arrangements for assistance. Please give us as much lead time as you can before attending a program, so that we may do our best for you.

Environmental and Food Sensitivities: We aim for an allergen-free space, including:

  • No nuts or seeds in any form (granola bars, sesame bars, hummus, peanut butter, almond butter, etc.)
  • No incense is burned inside the centre (you will see incense but it’s there as a symbolic offering, not for burning)
  • No perfumes, colognes, or scented products

We ask all members and visitors to respect these guidelines so that we can all be comfortable and safe at our Centre.
