Cherry Blossoms Never Reach the Ground: Poetry and Contemplation

April 14th—May 12th (2021)

Date details +

Contemplative poetry trains you to see the world in fresh ways by distinguishing the sensory from the conceptual. It is a practice that brings out your natural ability to see clearly. It also trains you to express what you see in words.
These classes will include interactive poetry/writing exercises, simple and glorious enjoyment of poetry, the sharing of our own poems (or short prose pieces), and so on, all undertaken in a supportive and non-judgmental atmosphere. Sharing of your own work is not absolutely essential; you may attend just to enjoy the writing of others. Poetry/writing skills are not a requirement, but fun is! Students should bring paper or a notebook, and a pen or pencil to each class.

    Suggested donation per class $10
