Vaisak Day / Saka Dawa

June 17th (2019)

Date details +

Vaisak Day, also called Vesak or Saka Dawa (Tibetan), is a major, universal buddhist holiday which commemorates three major events in the life of Shakyamuni Buddha: his birth, enlightenment, and parinirvana. On this occasion, all are warmly welcomed to commenerate the Buddha's life, teaching, and death. Come to practice together, and share stories of The Path, one's own way to the Dharma, or offerings of music or poetry to lighten and celebrate the occasion!

All are warmly welcome to bring offerings, a bit of food for the celebratory potluck, and good cheer! Space is limited, so please also register well in advance.

A donation of $5 is always warmly appreciated. Please also note that we cannot accommodate nuts or seeds at the Centre.
