Warrior exercises, known as "lujong" in Tibetan - literally "body training" are a set of exercises developed by Khenpo Tsultrim Gyamtso Rinpoche, drawing from the tradition of yogic exercises of India and Tibet. They are intended to help students enhance their physical health and synchronize body and mind. Although these exercises can be done vigorously, each of us is encouraged to move at a pace that is suitable for our body. The basic instruction for these exercises is to bring one's awareness to the movement of the body or to the physical sensations that arise in the body. The wakefulness created by the movements can bring a quality of meditation to everyday activities. At our Centre we will practice these as a group but they can also be done individually. Most people find an increase in energy and flexibility after practicing these warrior exercises.  These exercises will be adapted to be accessible to all bodies, flexibilities and strengths.

Come and join us for an invigorating workout as we follow students of Khenpo Tsultrim Gyampso Rinpoche in a video filmed in 2005.  Please wear clothing that supports your movement.

Be aware :Warrior exercises involve postures and movements that you may find physically difficult. As with many forms of discipline that involve bodily exercise, Warrior Exercises include an inherent element of risk of personal injury. All participants should exercise care that they do the exercises with an intensity and at a pace that is in keeping with their physical condition. It is not necessary to keep up with the group. Khenpo Rinpoche advises those with illness or difficulty in a particular part of their body to mentally focus on that area when doing the exercises, but they are cautioned not to exceed what their body is capable of.
