    Shambhala New Year: year of the Earth Dog is nearly upon us

    You are warmly invited to join us for a weekend of celebration, practice and community activities to welcome the year of the Earth Dog, rejoice in our sangha, and reflect on our community’s health and growth.

    Inviting the Dralas February 15, 2018 12:00-3:00 or 6:00-7:30

    Neutral day falls between Dön season, and the New Year when extra care and attention is vital for the fresh start of the New Year.

    It is a time to clean and refresh our centre, shrines and homes: a way of attracting positive drala into the environment.

    Join us for this festive day of cleaning and start the year with a sense of freshness, new beginning, openness and possibility.

    Shambhala Day February 16, 2018 5:30-9:00

    Shambhala Day marks the beginning of the New Year, and represents one of the most important traditions of Shambhala Buddhism. Based on the traditional Tibetan New Year’s celebration of Losar, the day is calculated astrologically according to the Tibetan lunar calendar.

    This year, we will gather together as a Sangha to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Earth Dog

    This day will include practice, a potluck lunch, and conversations about our aspirations for the Centre and community for the year of the earth dog.

    Shambhala Sadhana

    We will close the weekend with a Sahambhala Sadhana practice and light feast.
