You can make one-time or recurring online donation via PayPal to the Ottawa Shambhala Centre by clicking on the button below. Any amount is welcome and most appreciated. Donations are tax deductible.

Please be sure to include your name, address, and email address. A charitable donation receipt for income tax purposes will be issued by Shambhala Canada Society in late February and emailed or by Canada Post. Please note that Paypal is currently resolving some issues with it’s system. If you receive any error messages, they advise clearing your cookies and browser history, and then trying again. Donating to Scholarships, Bursaries, and Charitable Project Funds

Friends and Members of the Ottawa Shambhala Centre have, over the years, generously created and donated to a variety of scholarships and other funds meant to benefit others. You can contribute to these funds by clicking on the same button above, and selecting a destination fund. Below is are descriptions of funds currently on offer:

The Suzanne Schecter Côté Memorial Fund was inaugurated in honour and memory of longtime friend and dharma teacher Suzanne Côté to support students desiring to pursue studies through Shambhala. For more information on the Suzanne Schecter Côté Memorial Fund, click here.

The Henry Chapin Scholarship (named after longtime teacher and shastri, and co-founder of the Ottawa Shambhala Centre) is meant to aid students in need to travel to attend Shambhala programs and retreats to pursue their studies.

The Educators’ and Leaders’ Fund is a community fund meant to support local OSC educators and leaders of all stripes to advance their training for the benefit of others.

The Prison Chaplaincy Book Fund supports our prison chaplaincy work, by helping us to acquire books requested by prisoners in need.

The Recentering Fund is a savings fund meant for any future expenses associated with moving or acquiring property for the OSC.

The Kasung Fund supports various activities associated with the training in the kasung service, including but not limited to meetings and training in the services of protection (kasung), health and well-being (desung).

About the Ottawa Shambhala Centre

The Ottawa Shambhala Meditation Centre has been a training ground for enlightened society and discovering basic goodness since 1977. It has been a place for hearing, contemplating and integrating the Buddhist teachings. It has been a space that provides an oasis of peace in a fast-paced world of confusion. The Ottawa Shambhala Centre relies entirely on member fees, revenue from courses and donations for all operating expenses.
