A Recap of Our Shambhala Day Celebration

Thank you to those who joined us in person for our Shambhala Day practices and traditions! It was so good to have everyone at the Centre for Losar (Tibetan New Year) to practice and celebrate together!

We also had a lovely group show up on Neutral Day – the day before Tibetan New Year, when we mark the restoration of our good nature at the end of Dön Season – for deep cleaning and camaraderie in preparation for the main events on February 21. Patricia, Gerard, Gilbert, and Colin summoned the dralas on Neutral Day, with Gerard polishing-up our protector and Shambhala shrines, and Gilbert persevering in spite of a belabouring cold.

After morning practices to kick off the Year of the Water Rabbit, a buffet of potluck dishes was shared by all. We also officially recognized some of our super star volunteers – Bruce, Colin, Loretta, Tejumo, Tara, David, Marie-Laure and Gilbert – with Shambhala Awards! So far, everyone seems quite pleased with their Nepalese khata scarves.

For those who missed the official Shambhala Day Broadcast (via Shambhala Online) in the afternoon, you can watch the replay here.

Many thanks and best wishes for a prosperous New Year!
