Contemplative writing explores the connection between meditation practice and writing. Meetings will begin with short meditation sessions or periods of contemplation and will include playful and exploratory poetry exercises, such as Cut-ups, Poems in a bag, and Corps exquise. We’ll write poems, read poems, toss poems to the moon and back. We’ll explore and discuss ideas such as ‘First Thought, Best Thought’ and ‘No Ideas but in Things’. Time will be allotted to share writing in a supportive environment. We will be fearless with words. Open to anyone who wants to write poetry, has written poetry, or simply wants to explore the fascinating borderline between contemplation and the poetic spark. Fun is a requirement! Open to anyone. (Those who took Part I are invited to take Part II)
